First up-to-date BF at "Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works"

In December 2013 the blast furnace (BF) No. 6 at “Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works OJSC” was blown in after completion of an overhaul repair. In the flow of the overhaul repair the MMK has performed a packaged upgrading of the furnace within a tight schedule what enabled to increase productivity, to improve environmental and staff labour conditions.

Construction of the cast house with horizontal floor layout as well as arrangements of efficient aspiration were decisive factors for the furnace outfitting with up-to-date hydraulic tapping equipment package. Taking into account the tight deadlines allocated by the MMK management for BF-6 upgrading, the DNEPROHYDROMACH was qualified, as was already reported earlier, as designer and supplier of the cast house machines.

All Contract obligations were done within 5 months’ period and included engineering, manufacturing and delivery of the hydraulic mud gun machines, taphole drilling machines, trough cover manipulators, complete hydraulic tilting runners with hydraulic power pack and advanced PLC-based control system. Execution of all the contractual obligations as to the BF-6 upgrading project in Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel works within such a tight schedule gives our company a possibility to further provide to the potential client not only highly efficient engineering solutions but to ensure performance discipline and a partnership reliability.
