Slag stoppers of ferroalloy furnaces are fixed on support beams or brackets at a safe distance from runners.
- Several jacks provide for the straight movement of tips in relation to the axel of a slag taphole during its closing. Also, there is an option of adjusting the angle in relation to the taphole axel by ±5º.
- A pneumatic jack is used for turning, installing and securing a work tool on the taphole axel.
- The pneumatic jack is operated through compressed air supplied from the mains through the package.
- The pneumatic jack presses the tip against the taphole with the pressure of 1.5-2 kN.
- The main component of slag stoppers is a water-cooled replaceable tip made of copper.
